Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has finally received a license to operate in Ontario. Official word came via the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO.) This means that GiG may now provide its gambling software to operators in the Ontario region. It’s a big step for the company and another sign that the Ontario industry is booming.

It wasn’t long ago that Ontario was officially regulated. Since then, gambling companies have been scrambling to receive a license. Only a few have succeeded so far, with GiG now among the successful applicants. According to Claudio Caruana, it is another major milestone for iGaming.

Powering the Industry

Caruana said that he is thrilled with the license. He added that success is just another step forward for GiG. He went on that he and his company are resolutely committed to helping power iGaming in regulated markets.

As big an achievement as this is, it isn’t the only progress the company has been seeing. It wasn’t long ago that subsidiary Sportnco made a similar big move. The entity secured a partnership with Caravel Entertainment in Portugal. The move was in line with a statement made by CEO Richard Brown.

Focusing on Growth

Brown declared that much effort has been put into restructuring in recent months. As such a large portion of GiG has been sold off to Betsson, with the intention of pushing for growth. Brown also commented that the industry is rapidly changing and that GiG is adjusting to new factors. He concluded that he is happy with the decision but will miss colleagues that have moved on to new projects.
